Fastest test: remove the production volume from the problem. Send one known capsule through the shortest possible route and walk beside it from source to destination.

Trace the route in six checks

  1. Confirm the source output. If no capsule enters the first segment, the conveyor is not yet the failing stage.
  2. Read belt direction at every new section. Two pieces can touch while sending material toward each other.
  3. Inspect each join. Look for a visual gap, height change or end point that only appears connected from one angle.
  4. Test splitters and mergers with one input. Patch 1.0.4 lets any crewmate place them on another player’s belts and makes mergers alternate inputs.
  5. Check the receiving machine. A full or inactive destination makes the last belt look broken.
  6. Confirm the final result. At the Hub this is payment; at a machine it is material consumption and a new output.
Success condition

One test capsule crosses every connection, enters the intended destination, and produces the expected payment or machine output.

Patch 1.0.4 removes several false diagnoses

Old symptom1.0.4 status
Machine pauses with “Could not pack a capsule” despite materials and powerOfficially listed as fixed.
Capsules fall under foundations after belts are removedOfficially listed as fixed.
Crew cannot place splitters/mergers on another player’s beltShared belt building is now supported.
Merger input behavior feels inconsistentMergers now alternate between inputs.

Do not use the launch-day host-only workaround as a rule

Some indexed troubleshooting pages still say only the host should place splitters or mergers. That was a player workaround for an older multiplayer bug. Patch 1.0.3 says crewmate-built splitters and mergers now work; 1.0.4 further confirms shared belt building and alternating merger inputs. On the current build, first confirm that everyone is on the same version and inspect the actual ports before asking the host to rebuild the network.

When the belt reaches the Hub but nothing sells

Do not rebuild the full route immediately. Patch 1.0.3 says dust and stone delivered by belt are paid as they arrive. Confirm the exact intake, observe the display and check your balance with a small load. Then use the auto-selling guide if payment is still missing.

Evidence limit: following arrows, checking gaps and tracing one capsule are third-party-backed troubleshooting logic, not steps stated in the official patch notes. Official support on this page is limited to the named 1.0.3/1.0.4 payment, shared-building, merger and capsule fixes. Exact placement was not reproduced by the editor in-game.
